Our History

Quilcene was home to a thriving timber industry that originated during the 1860’s when loggers from Maine and several other families settled in the area. In the early 1970’s wandering hippies gravitated to the area bringing their arts and crafts with them.  Discord ensued between the loggers and the hippies until love prevailed and they began to intermarry. Thus the Arts community was born and continues to thrive today.

The original building was a Auto Repair Garage and recovery center… junk automobiles!! The building was constructed from locally milled lumber. The magnificent beams were painstakingly cleaned and sanded to their original color and splendor. Windows have been added to let in the natural light. The View out a large picture window is Mount Walker. The only peak facing the Puget Sound that has a road to its summit. This serves as beautiful backdrop in the Gallery.

Our Space

The entry doors were found in Seattle’s Earthwise Architectural Salvage. These 8’ x 8’ glass doors open into an impressive 3000 ft gallery. The space can accommodate our regular artists work and work from visiting artists.   We welcome rotating artwork in shows.

We specialize in custom Wood furniture and other art from locally sourced woods.   These pieces are often accented with Exotic woods. We also carry internationally recognized Pacific Green Furniture. Custom furniture made from Sustainable Palm Wood and all natural leathers. We have pieces in our gallery and custom orders can be placed for their extensive line of fine furniture and leathers.
