Christine Witte

Christine Witte, a Pacific Northwest native, draws much of the inspiration for her watercolors from nature.  Traveling, gardening, bird watching, camping and other outdoor activities while using camera and journal/sketchbook to document sights & sounds, provides unlimited subject matter.  As a child, drawing and painting were her favorite pastimes.  She majored in Graphic Design in college, worked as a drafter for a few years, then returned to college to earn a Mechanical Engineering degree.  She worked for many years as a Project Engineer, subsequently as an Engineering Manager.  But Christine never lost her passion for art.  She has taken many classes in watercolor painting and drawing over the years, drawing & painting in her off hours, continuing to hone her skills.  Christine has had several private shows, and has displayed her paintings in local galleries, art fairs and public buildings.  Since retiring, she teaches watercolor classes locally and out of her home studio.
