First love of the ocean was surfing. While growing up near Naples, Fl, was able to catch the waves on the east coast of Florida.  Also traveled to catch the waves during summer vacations. Puerto Rico, Costa Rico, Barbados were just a few places that I was able to surf.

Built my first sailboat at 21, Port Cavernal, Florida. The Pelican was a Jim Brown 37’ Sea Runner.  Off to the Races!!   Sailing was in my blood as much as surfing.   I was able to combine these two passions with a 4 1/2 year solo sail around the world.  Kluann was a 44’ Gulfstar Sailmaster.

Self discovery sums up this adventure!

Returning to Naples, morphed into starting Timbercraft.  We specialized in Plantation shutters and Custom Furniture. We also customized trim and doors for clients. As a pastime I designed and manufactured the “Everglades Runner”.  18’ Flats boat that could skim along in 2” of water propelled by a 90 horse outboard. We won the Innovation Awards at the Miami Boat Show.

In Key West I combined skills of craftsmanship with artistic imagination to create Nautical themed pieces for stores and restaurants. Several Cigar stores have displays of cigars on Mahogany boats

We built out the interiors of these stores with shelving, displays and counters.  Many pieces were nautical themes. One of these boats is on display in our Quilcene Gallery.

The abundance of natural woods and timber framing peaked an interest in the Pacific North West. The front of our Gallery was first attempt with Timber Frame Construction. With the help of Local Artisan builders Bill constructed a Timber Frame entrance to Seven Monkeys Gallery.

This lead to building an Outdoor Timber Frame Kitchen overlooking Hood Canal in Coyle. Efforts now will be focused on filling the Gallery with Custom Furniture and other pieces of Art.
