Inked Squall
Rather than treating black simply as a color or absence of light, Bryn Anderson used the pigments to create a new, luminous space. Instead of traditional color, the various black pigments reflect the surrounding environment, turning the monochrome surface into shimmering whites, grays, and deep shadows depending on where the viewer stands

DESCRIPTION
Bryn Anderson strives to create highly contrasted paintings that trick the eye — seemingly random brushstrokes, heavy structural swipes of paint. The closer you are the more abstract they become — the further you are the more realistic. Her goal is for each painting to be aggressively caught between abstraction and the hyper real.
Bryn is a PNW native and a self-taught artist (unless one counts an addiction to Bob Ross in her formative years) and oil is absolutely her medium!
